Being Seen
Jo will be collaborating with Contact Dance Company.
Contact Dance Company has built a strong reputation for its powerful and eloquent brand of contemporary inclusive dance, full of depth and connection...
BEING SEEN explores equality, difference and togetherness and offers a poignant commentary coming from the moment we are living in.
Jo begins working with the company in the next weeks and has previously led movement workshops with the company’s dancers. “I want to create something that is immediate, intimate and playful.” Jo Fong. The cast of disabled and non-disabled dancers will leave you in no doubt that this is the perfect time to catch inclusive dance at its best.

Jo’s working practice is an evolving, interactive and playful approach, incorporating aspects of release, yoga, contact and voice techniques. As a language she has been working on self-generating scores, simple instructions/games that play out, making connection, encouraging awareness, range, presence, multiple outcomes and simple acts like noticing.

Audience Member “Every year @Summerhallery throws up a show where you are invited to connect to your fellow human and hear their story. This year it is 'Neither Here Nor There'. A genuinely life affirming 90 minutes that everyone should have in their lives.”
Jo and Sonia are ‘two middle-aged international provincial artists’. They have questions about how it’s all going, the big unfathomable questions about the world and small questions about the state of your garden. Complexity takes time, it requires multiple voices, many levels of expertise.
They’d like you to join the conversation.
