Jo’s working practice is an evolving, interactive and playful approach, incorporating aspects of release, yoga, contact and voice techniques. As a language she has been working on self-generating scores, simple instructions/games that play out, making connection, encouraging awareness, range, presence, multiple outcomes and simple acts like noticing.

Audience Member “Every year @Summerhallery throws up a show where you are invited to connect to your fellow human and hear their story. This year it is 'Neither Here Nor There'. A genuinely life affirming 90 minutes that everyone should have in their lives.”
Jo and Sonia are ‘two middle-aged international provincial artists’. They have questions about how it’s all going, the big unfathomable questions about the world and small questions about the state of your garden. Complexity takes time, it requires multiple voices, many levels of expertise.
They’d like you to join the conversation.

Writing in Response – Bristol
Togetherness: writing in response to a workshop with Jo Fong - by Sian Goldby
GATHER UP
We invited dance artist Sian Goldby to create a writing in response to the workshop with choreographer Jo Fong which we hosted on Saturday 30th March at Circomedia in Bristol. Drawing from her experience of participating in the workshop and afternoon talk, and writing from her dance practice Sian has produced this work that expresses and articulates the shared movements that took place during the workshop and have carried out into our individual dancing. In sharing about her current writing practice, Sian writes, 'I'm currently very interested in ways that writing can visually stimulate and evoke the physical experience that I wanted to share from being a workshop participant.'
